HEA BARGAINING SURVEY

Mar 10, 2021 - Mar 11, 2022
Back To Events

On behalf of his year’s team, the HEA Bargaining Survey is now open and can be found here. Please take a few minutes to complete this important survey by Friday, March 11.

We have a fully open contract this year, and the
bargaining survey is a critical source of data for the HEA Bargaining Team, Executive Board, and Bargaining Support Team (BST) as we plan for negotiations and organizing efforts to support a strong contract agreement.

This year, HEA leadership and bargainers have worked hard to streamline our
survey, making it much shorter and therefore faster to complete. It has approximately 40 questions, and will likely take less than ten minutes to complete unless you choose to spend additional time adding comments for the team to consider. This also means that the survey is targeted at getting information that will be relevant for most, if not all, members. Information-gathering for smaller, specialized groups – and about COVID-specific issues -  is happening in a variety of other ways, including targeted surveys, focus groups, and through the work of joint committees. We are also planning to hold listening sessions this spring, which will allow us to hear from members about whatever issues they wish to share.

Please join me in thanking the Bargaining Team for the hours spent preparing this survey and for the many hours ahead. I personally also wish to thank Thara Cooper for her years of service to our members and for her gracious support of me as your president. As of this month, Veronica Fairchild will transition to the role of Bargaining Chair. Veronica has served many years on the team both in her current role and previously as a High School Representative. Do not fear, however - Thara will continue on the team as we take advantage of the perspective she brings, having worn many hats in the district over the years.

So, again, please take a few minutes to support our bargainers by
weighing in on your priorities for our upcoming negotiations.

In Solidarity,

Sandy
